Our vision
is to build a "Healthy Community"; our mandate is to provide leadership and support in helping people identify and deal with
community issues. We work towards this through our mission of a community development by promoting peace and facilitating
community.
We aim to increase understanding of local resources, focus on specific area actions, and build the capacity
of our people to energetically recognize and act upon local issues. It is only the people that live, work and play in their
community that know what it takes to make it "A HEALTHY & PEACEFUL COMMUNITY."
We believe that the concept of peace has been linked to the wide idea of development,
assuming that development is not the classical pursuit of wealth. Peaceful development can be a set of many different elements such as good
governance, health care, education, gender balance, disaster preparedness, infrastructure, rule of law, human rights and other
political issues. SCD is playing its role in promoting peace through awareness programs, promoting peace symbols, sports (games),
theatres etc.
