Policy Title:                Salaries and Wages

 

Aims & Objectives:

To provide direction for society officers to maintain all society payroll records.

To provide for appropriate processes to enable payment of salary and wages to society employees.

 

Aims & Objectives:

 

  • No employee should be added to payroll records or paid without receipts of a letter of appointment, appropriate forms, including employment declaration forms.

 

  • Employee records must be maintained for all employees. Files should contain employees’ details, contracts, authorization for payroll or deduction changes, annual leave, long service leave and sick leave entitlements.

 

  • No adjustments will be made to employee records, e.g. names, addresses, deduction details without receipts of written authorization from the employee.

 

  • No adjustments will be made to salary or wage rates without written authorization from the Director.

 

  • The Director must cause to be maintained a record of all employees and in respect of each employee the gross salary, taxation and all itemized deductions for each pay period.

 

  • All salaries and wages paid must be generated by a timesheet which shall be:

(a)    signed by the employee

(b)   signed by the coordinator

(c)    signed by the Director (or his delegate); and

(d)   marked as evidence of being processed.
