Policy Title:                Monies Received

Aims & Objectives:

To provide direction of society officers when receiving payments way of cash, cheque, credit cards or EFT.

Policy Detail:

• A receipt shall be issued for all monies received by the society.

• The Director shall cause all cheques received by society to be crossed ‘not negotiable’ for Society for Community Development only.

• The original of every cancelled receipt shall be retained and attached to the hard copy of the receipts for that day.

• Receipts are sequentially pre-numbered and issued strictly in numerical sequence.

• Receipts for payments to society will not be posted to ratepayers, electors, or other persons or bodies unless specifically requested.

• The EFT facility will only be used to allow payment of an account outstanding to society.

• The EFT facility will not be used to allow cash to be withdrawn from a persons account.

• Monies received by the society must be banked on a frequent basis.
